The rules behind the stories
Content standards
Honesty is the whole product.
Label what it is.
Record is documented history. Account is a published or attested report. Story is folklore. The narration identifies the difference and never promotes a story into fact.
Leave fresh grief alone.
We do not use recent tragedies, the recently lost, or living-memory cases where a drive would turn somebody else's open wound into entertainment.
Protect private lives.
Occupied private homes are not stops. We do not identify private residents, invite contact, or direct drivers onto private property.
Respect the ground.
Cemeteries, memorials, schools, businesses, and places tied to real harm receive restraint. Some stops contain no ghost story at all. None is needed.
Keep the cabin sealed.
Every drive is designed for public roads and legal parking. No story or ritual requires leaving the vehicle, except when a marathon formally pauses at its designated pit stop.
